Neopwn is the first Linux network penetration testing operating system, publicly available on a mobile phone platform. It was officially released on September 20, 2008.
Hardware
The core hardware platform on which Neopwn runs is the Openmoko Neo Freerunner. It allows for other USB hardware and peripherals to be integrated, such as USB WLAN cards whose GPL drivers allow for monitor mode and packet injection.
Software
The Neopwn operating system is Debian (ARMEL) based, running a customized Linux 2.6.24 kernel to optimize many of the operations carried out on the Freerunner hardware. The menu system of Neopwn resembles that of BackTrack Linux in its organization and structure.
