JackBe
JackBe Corporation is a privately-held software provider of enterprise mashup software. JackBe's corporate headquarters are located in Chevy Chase, Maryland. JackBe has international and US customers including Banamex, Thomson Scientific, Nutrisystem, the US Defense Intelligence Agency, and the Defense Information Systems Agency.[1] JackBe has received multiple rounds of venture capital investment from several venture capital companies, including Intel Capital and Core Capital.[2]
JackBe's original technology was an Ajax framework[3], which is still supported by JackBe and in use by many international customers. JackBe's flagship product is an Enterprise Mashup Platform called Presto.[4]
JackBe is a founding member[5] of the Open Mashup Alliance (OMA), which promotes enterprise mashup interoperability and portability. JackBe was the original contributor and continues to be a key supporter of the OMA's Enterprise Mashup Markup Language (EMML). Other EMML supporters include Bank of America[6], Hewlett-Packard, Capgemini, Adobe, and Intel.[5]
Enterprise Mashup Products
JackBe’s flagship software product, Presto[7], is an Enterprise Mashup Platform that includes functionality for creating and syndicating enterprise mashups:
- service access engines[8] for Web services, SQL, RSS, and Web clipping;
- mashup composers/creators[9] including a graphical, drag-and-drop tool and a declarative enterprise mashup markup language;
- mashup 'connectors'[10] for popular enterprise tools including Microsoft Excel, HP Systinet, and Oracle WebCenter;
- mashup APIs[8] for JavaScript, Java, REST, C#, and .NET,
- Enterprise Mashup Markup Language (EMML).[5]
