IWork.com
iWork.com is an online service by Apple Inc. complementing their iWork suite of office productivity software. It was released as a public beta on January 6, 2009 at the last Macworld Conference & Expo to be attended by Apple. Functionality is similar to other cloud-based office applications such as Google Docs, offering collaboration features and online viewing, though documents cannot be edited online. The iWork.com service is currently free as a beta but will be a subscription-based on its full release.[1]
File formats
iWork.com supports uploading of Pages '09 documents, Keynote '09 presentations, and Numbers '09 spreadsheets. Users can download documents in both Microsoft Office and PDF formats, in addition to their native iWork formats. The originator who uploads the document determines which of these possible formats are available download options.
Requirements
Uploading documents to iWork.com requires a copy of the iWork '09 software suite and an Apple ID. Viewing, commenting, and downloading require only a web browser and an invitation to view the document. (Each invited recipient receives a unique URL to access the document.)
