352 Media Group is a web site design and development company with headquarters in Newberry, Florida[1]. 352 Media Group has developed more than 1000 web sites, web applications, CDs, DVDs and interactive marketing campaigns for businesses and organizations around the globe[2]. Some of their most notable clients include Microsoft[3] and Ben & Jerry’s[4]
History
352 Media Group was started in 1997 as "SpyderWeb Page Creation" by Geoff Wilson, Jesse Murse, and Brian Keller. The company started as a part-time venture at the Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity house at the University of Florida[5]. In 1999, Geoff Wilson and Jesse Murse decided to scale back their college classes and focus on growing the company. Brian Keller left the company at that time, while Jason Shindler (CIO) and Peter VanRysdam (Vice President of Sales and Marketing) joined and became co-owners. The group changed the name of the company to "Silverscape Technologies"[6]. Silverscape Technologies expanded rapidly in 2000 and 2001 and began to attract national clients including Pizza Hut.
In November 2002, Silverscape Technologies changed its name to "352 Media Group" and in 2003, began establishing satellite offices with their first in Atlanta, Georgia[7]. Since the inception of the Atlanta office, 352 has added major clients in the Atlanta area, including General Electric, Heil Trailer, Earthlink, Biolabs and Clark Atlanta University[8]. Most recently, they have established sales offices in Ann Arbor, [9] Tampa, [10] Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and Houston[11].
Awards
In October 2008, 352 Media Group was selected as one of the top three web design companies in the United States by TopSEOs.com[11]. They are also ranked number 3,721 on the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest growing privately held companies in the United States[5]. 352 Media Group was also selected as one of the Top 100 fastest growing Marketing Service Agencies in the United States by Advertising Age Magazine[12].
Recent developments
352 Media Group has recently been hired by Microsoft to manage the Microsoft Expression Web site for the 2009 fiscal year. They were chosen from among 16 approved Microsoft vendors, based on expertise with Microsoft Silverlight development, understanding of internal Microsoft best practices and overall vision for the Expression Website[13]. 352 Media Group also recently worked with Humana to create WellZone.org, which is a web site that is meant to make accurate health information more accessible to the public[14]. They have also created a "Meet the Candidates" web site which enables visitors to learn about the Presidential candidates and the issues they support or oppose[15].
