The PageRank algorithm, developed by Larry Page and Sergey Brin at Stanford University, is a key component of Google's search algorithm. It assigns a numerical weight to each element of a hyperlinked set of dоcuments, such as the World Wide Web, with the purpose of measuring its relative importance within the set. The algorithm operates on the premise that important websites are likely to receive more links from other websites.

Here's a simplified version of how the algorithm works: when one page links to another, it is essentially casting a vote for the other page. The importance of the linking page and the number of links on the linking page affect the weight of this vote. Pages with high PageRank are more likely to be reached by users.

In essence, the PageRank algorithm functions as a tool for analyzing and prioritizing the significance of web pages based on the quantity and quality of links pointing to them. While the specifics of the algorithm have evolved over time, it remains a fundamental aspect of Google's approach to ranking websites.

It is not easy to find out the exact algorithm of Google Page Rank. When it was started its algorithm was based on the number of backlinks a website have to determine how important the website, but now there are lots of factors which are taken into account while calculating the page rank. One of the factor is still number backlinks but of quality.
