Hello all,

A small question..
How long does it take before a website is included in google?

In my case it is a new website of 2 weeks old.

Will this be months rather than weeks?

The crawling process by the bots of google might take as little as 4 days and even up to 6 months. There are many factors involved by which Google determines how much time it will take to index your website.

Hiya
There is often a difference between indexing and listing. Is your site coming up as indexed on Google?
Once you know it is in there somewhere you can then start to look at ways to move it up, and I agree with others that if you are using the Google resources available to you, that really should not take too long. (This is always dependent on your site structure and content etc. obviously.)

Look at you hosting analytics and see if the google bot has visited, if it has then give it a couple of weeks and do a search site:your domain
If the your site does not appear Google probably decided it was not worthy of including. It may have even been previously used by another person and banned.

If it is listed it still does not mean it will rank and there are ways of testing that as well do a search for example yourdomain space domain extension for example      bbc com          (no.)
if the domain is not showing on the first few pages of google chances are it has a penalty

If it is a really competitive keyword you are targeting include your meta title or part of it
e.g.  bbc com latest news
if it is not on the first 3 pages you have a duff domain
