I think Google+ is better bet now, Facebook has exposure limitation.. I mean only active followers can see your posts otherwise rest won't able to see it. But in Google+ there is no such limitation and 2nd thing Google+ communities are really fruitful and have lesser spam as compared to Facebook Groups.
